While digging in my old Everquest folder (its like more than 10 years old) i found this unique poem wrote by a ranger. I have no idea how or when i actually got my hands on this digital scroll but it was signed by a ranger named “Hyppy Wayfarer”. The poem goes like this:
My weary feet before me,
And with many miles to go
I settled in on my pace
To drive me through the snow
Many seasons ago,
in lands that are far away
I started on my quest
for what I cannot say.
Why continue? Why prolong
this madness that's ahead?
When all that I shall find
Is darkness, weakness and dread.
"The roads too long!"
"The tasks too tough!"
"You've no life beyond this age!"
To many this is enough
But from deep inside himself
The answers there-in lie
What others find impossible
Success for me is nigh.
A friend awaits me at the inn
And from there our journey 's shown
From there to places yet untouched
And many roads unknown.
My lighter feet before me
And with fewer miles to go
I breathe in deep the afternoon
And continue through the snow.
